Default Carbon Hatch Problems!

So I just bought a carbon hatch that was slightly used from someone on this forum, a few little things with it but overall it's in pretty good condition. Install didn't seam bad. I left the shocks on it that the other kid used. I left his mounts on the shocks too. He said they came off of a celica. The shocks don't hold the hatch on but no big deal I can buy new ones, the problem I'm having is the hatch won't close all the way or something. It latches and all but the glass nor the carbon lid fit flush with the sides of the car. They stick up any help or suggestions? Anybody know the correct shocks to use also?!

Are you using shocks? I know many people take off the shocks because it pushes the hatch up with the lighter carbon fiber hatch compared to stock.

They stuck up b/c the shocks are rated too high.. like RoboCop is saying. You need lighter PSI shocks for the lighter hatch.

I have different shocks, they're too light, it doesn't even hold the hatch up in the air, but im wondering if I should just remove them, maybe glass wont stick up?

take them off and see if it closes, worst case scenario you just put them back on.

Well, tonight I took the shocks off all together, still no good. Maybe adding washers under the four bolts that bolt it to the car, above the rear window?

Both mine and my friend's carbon fiber hatches don't fit perfect. The glass barely sticks up past the body but it's not that noticable. Post up a pic if you can.

Is that good or bad? Lol. I added washers under the bolts where it bolts to the car above the rear glass. The passenger side got worse and stuck up even more and then drivers side got better and say more flush. Added the same amount of washers all around.. So weird.

Carbon fiber usually doesn't fit like oem. I just forget about it. I've seen worse fitting carbon fiber parts on other cars lol

Yeah as long as it doesn't let water in I guess. As for a hood what should I do? I also was wondering should I get the same brand hood as the hatch?

it really doesn't matter which brand hood you go with. go with a style you like and check around and do your homework to see if people are experiencing problems with fitment.

i have a VIS hatch and a kaminari hood btw
