Default Carwash(funny)

So me and my friend are in his lancer evo the other day, ya know, just cruisin around and everything. The thing looked terrible. like it had brown crap all over it.
So we take it to the car wash, pays the guy, gets out of the car lets them clean it

half way through the carwash the sirens go off.wash stops
mexican guy comes running up to my friend telling him his front bumper was cought on the automatic lift/pulley

they had to wedge the bodykit off the pulley for him to get out of the carwash.lol

anyone ever heard of anything like this before?like if your car is too low it'll cause problems in a carwash or something?

well it wasnt THAT bad.just weird
not sure what type of bodykit he has but the bottom grill was torn by the pulley
the leftside front bumper is shattered hence it being fiberglass where he automatic pulley takes your car.lol

his insurance is covering most of the damage since it wasn't wreckless driving or anything
but i think he has to pay like a few hundred or so

so when i get my body kit and lower my ride.i should stay away fro mcar washes?

While we're on the topic of car wash.
Is it true that the car washes at the gas stations sometimes messes up the paint?

yes.sometimes the brushes at car washes degrade the paint, leaves scratches and whatnot
try to get into a cloth car wash.much better and they dont use brushes.high water pressure.floppy things and airdry

the car wash should have a limit to whats aloud in the wash tunnel. Normally if something wont go into the tunnel they will hand wash it. I dont know what type of wash shop you went to but I would suggest that to your friend next time. Sucks it got stuck though.

Default in case you don't know......

i'd like to add that anyone that cares about thier paint should avoid gas station car washes at all costs. i took my 'o6 bcp through one last month and it WRECKED my paint to the point that thier insurance conceeds fully and will paint my car without a fight. still a disheartening hassle though. don't even have my licence plates yet!

Don't ever go to any carwash that they have something actually touching the car... brush or cloth. You're insane if you do. Even if they're cloth and "safe" for paint, you don't know what went through there last or what kind of debris is stuck on that nice, safe cloth.

Stick with laserwashes and doing it yourself. I wouldn't even let anyone else dry my car, let alone something at a carwash touch it.

im gunna find a touchless one in my area, im just lazy and don't wanna wash it. but anywayz my friend has a 2k ford mustang. and i dont remember why but somehow, he was already in the car wash, and he decided to go backwards, before actually getting the wash started i should add. i guess he didn't have enough money or something but he started going backwards and he got stuck! one of his wheels was off the ground and they had to call a tow truck to pull it out. freakin hilarious. this is the same friend that also ran into a gate with his car. thats a great story too....
