DIY baby. The ring is actually a cold cathode and it is very delicate, it can break easily if you're not careful. But it's worth a try bro. Go for it and be the first to have a DIY angel eyes. Can't wait to see it on.
I bet if you call the company that sells it they would be glad to sell you the rings and electrical components minus the fans (that is if evrything was made in house). Either way good luck and happy motoring.
SVC doesn't manufacture their products. They just re-sell 'em. You will be fine just buying the whole kit. May I suggest buying a used tC headlight first and use it as your guinea pig. Good luck bro.
I can get CC rings, and was going to do this a month ago, but I dont' know the size of the headlights.. I was also going to do a DIY, if someone tells me the size of the reflectors I'll tell you if it will work.
im doing my retro next week, im gonna try it, and if i break um i only wasted 20 bucks, better to try that before dropping 160 on dde's, which prob arent as bright

There are a bunch of people that have done this ccfl mod with COUGARS. The diameter for the rings that fit their headlights are 80mm. Most people only used the ccfl's because they wanted a different color than white. There are a couple people that were able to find white ccfl, but I can't find those pictures anywhere. Here is link for the thread: http://newcougar.org/forums/showthre...l+eyes+midwest
And the link for their how-to: http://www.amesthundercats.com/HeadlightMod.html
There are a couple pics of my car with uimnitza's dde's installed, and I'll vouch that they are ridiculously bright: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/532840
P.S. My friend has a tC and I help her with almost everything, I just got in a wreck the other day so I may be looking at getting one as well.
