Default Clear bra

We wanted to postup pics of the Clear bra on the tC that we offer. This car belongs to Malina. She just got the car and is in the process of modding it out. We cant wait to see the finished product of her tC later on.

If you have any questions please let us know.

Thanks

Amber

This product is a must have if you want to protect your car against chips from rocks and other road debris. I would recommend getting it done as soon as you get your car to prevent any blemishes to your Scions. It's more attractive than a traditional bra since you can't even see it! It is definitely worth the peace of mind.

Cool, I didn't know about this clear bra. How did you came across this product, and do know if there are places in NYC that does this?

Here is the website: http://www.rockblocker.com

It goes on almost like a giant piece of vinyl. The pieces are custom fit for the tC and other cars. On my car I have it on the front bumper, 1/3 way up my hood and on my side mirrors.

I also would have never put a bra on my car but this product is amazing. You can't tell it is there unless you really look.

We sell and install this product all over the country. I have a great installer across the water from you who also tints if you are interested.

It is 3M ScothGard 8 mil urethane film. It has an adhesive backing and is made to stop rocks from damaging your paint. I agree I wouldnt put a black bra on the car, but you will want this product!! The kit for this car is the hood, fenders, mirrors and front bumper.

Maybe the diagram will help

No it would fade the paint. Actually it would protect it and cause you wax the rest of car a regular basis. I have never had a customer remove one of our kits ever. I have removed them from car accidents and seen no signs of fade as long as you maintain your vehicle. Get my drift?? If you drive the car and do nothing with it then it wont look very good after years of abuse.

Hope that helps.

I have installed a kit from Roadblocker on 2 of the new cars we have purchased lately. It is very strong and protects the paint well. On the scion it is installed over CF hood and it is almost impossible to see unless you really looking for it. The film makes the paint and CF looks a little deeper and more 3d. I am still waiting for it to settle completely so I can wax over it. Pictures are coming shortly.

It was stated above that they are using the 8 Mil 3M material - as do almost everyone. It's the same stuff. Even if it isn't, the 3M is the gold standard of this stuff - they're the ones who developed it. What they might be selling is a specific pre-cut kit for the tC, which could be better or worse, depending. The best way is to have a really good installer do it from a roll cut by hand, but that can be really pricey. Price-wise, you can get a laser cut kit online for $250-300 (for a good one) and then installation is between 150-300, depending on how good they are and how much prep work your car needs. Even if you paid $600 for it, it would be worth it. I paid about $500 total for mine (not rockblocker) and I love it.

Oh - one more thing that is bothering me. In the pictures above, you can't see the seams. I think if they want to show you a good picture, they should take it from the side half way up the hood (which is in the dark or not shown in the pictures above). This thing is very hard to see, but they should show you how little you can see it on the part where it IS visible, not just show you what it looks like looking through it on a part where you can't see anything. Just my $0.02

I took those pictures for myself in the parking garage of my work. They are not intended to be a full representation of the product. They have posted pics in another thread which shows the kit on an xB and you can see how the product shows up with the light behind it. Again, these pics were for me and weren't taken "in the dark" on purpose. We will be taking "official" pics of the tC in the next couple of weeks for the website.

There are pics of the rockblocker on an xB a couple posts down in this thread:

Here is a pic of my tC in the daylight with the RockBlocker on (photoshopped, obviously, but the only thing chopped is the background).

Thanks for the other posts - I think this product is great and didn't want to make it sound like I thought someone was trying to trick someone else, but for all practical purposes, take a look at any tC - that's how it will look with the clear bra on it. If you take detail pics of the seams, that would be something that people who are considering it would want to see.

The film itself isn't that hard to install, but the tC has a very hard fascia, so if you want it to look good, it's really not recommended. Any fingerprints on the back will show up, and I'm sure your first one wouldn't come out great - by the time you pay for a replacement kit, you could have had it installed (with an installation warranty) for the same price.

Looking at the diagram, it appears as though that will work on the stock fascia. Is there an option for those of us with the Ground Effects Kit?

Perhaps I'm misreading the diagram?
