Cost to Paint OEM Bumper?
Curious what an "average" cost might be to have an OEM bumper painted? Specifically a new one that should already be primered (little to no prep work?) and I would be doing the install myself.
With the recent damage to my splashguards, I've been considering replacing the bumper (both to be able to put new splash guards on and to fix some chips and such). And I'm really just trying to get some ideas at this point. If I'm going to have this car for another 2 years (Toyobaru, you are my dream!), I want to make sure it's in great shape when I get rid of it.
No, I'm not interested in getting anything aftermarket. I can't afford to do a full body kit or anything and don't really like any of them.
So ya... just looking to find out how much it might be to have the bumper painted. What do you think?

paint should cost about 50 bucks. Labor should be about 100-150 depending on where you go.
I would take in the car to get it color matched, or the paint could be slightly off. If you do that, they may charge $30 for R&I and $10 for color matching.
Also, if you choose to have it blended, it may cost an extra $100 plus another 50 for more paint. Depending on how old the paint on your car is, you may want to do it.
Total: $430
I backed into some pallets and scratched the deck lid and rear bumper. With a discount, it was about $700, just for reference.

Good god Matt... that sounds ridiculous.
When I had my rear bumper repaired last year I think it was less than $400 and they did a wonderful job. If you're talking about all of these other things that add $50 or $100, that just seems insane.
I suppose it'll just be easier to go ask them... and ya, I know I could have done that first - but it's a Saturday, I don't even know if that shop is open today - figured I might get some ideas here.

I would rather pay the extra money and have it done right than have the color be off and have to get it repainted.
Listen to what this guy says about blending panels.

If a slight color mismatch isnt a problem or you are just gonna sell the bumper... thats a different story.
The appraiser might be able to tell if its been repainted if it isnt blended when you go to trade up or sell the car.
