if anyone has gone the "Hope Depot" way and made their own custom tC grille using gutter-guard or the like, can you either post here and tell me of your experience (cost, ease of install, etc.) or PM me. thanks a bunch, i'm considering doing it in the very near future

it costed me $12.06 to make my grille. Time was 1 afternoon. Take your time and do it correctly and you won't have any problems.

i'd rather spend 12 dollars on mesh and do it myself than spent 200 something on grillcraft.

 

agreed. i doubt the average person admiring your new grille is gonna be like "dude wtf did you do? thats from home depot aisle 12! ___". its gonna be more like "dude nice how much did that cost?? ONLY $12????"

What kind of paint did you guys use cause the paint keeps chiping on mine?

 

Grillecraft grill I had for my integra. Cut it to fit and attached it to the OEM crome grill surround

 

my paint keeps chipping also. Every 2-3 months I cut the zip ties, take the grill out, and give it another coat or two of black paint. Even doing this like 3 times so far, i've only used 1/4 can of the black spray paint i bought originally.

having the grill powdercoated should hold up better, but that costs money

 

couldnt you just go with the aluminum look? then again i havent been to home depot in a while so i dont know how it looks directly from the store...
