Default DIY: RS1 Lip Install!!

Okay so everyone asks, how to you install a RS1 Front Lip. This is the DIY!! I looked everywhere and I couldn’t find one thread after thread of people just saying it easy and that you just need four screws and double sided tape -_-
That’s no help people!!! We need pictures and instructions so this is the way I did it. I have the fender fog lights and I didn’t need to cut no inch or anything. All you need to do was sand the sh*t out of it so here it is:

First thing you need to do is to put on your lip without any screws or anything just to check if you need to make any mods or anything. I suggest you put some painters tape from getting any scratches on your car.

After that if you have fender fog lights you’re going to need to sand the plastic that goes inside the little openings in the bumper.
Turn this:

Into this (the thinner the better)

Now that you are done with your lip we move to your fog lights, if you don’t have these kind of fog lights skip these steps
How you are going to have to sand down and cut some of your fog light plastic. In order for them to fit.
Sand here:

Cut here using a blade

Now put on the lip ( its better if you have someone help you, and put in the fog lights if they don’t fit try sanding them down some more. It’s going to be a tight fit. Take the fog lights out and get yourself a hair dryer or an industrial one. (I used industrial)
Do you see the gap where your lip meets the bumper you’re going to fix that. Have a person hold the side that you’re not working on. For example, if you’re working on the right one have them hold the left side. Remove the side of the lip that your working on and heat up the plastic.
Once the plastic is hot and flexible put it back on and slowly push the plastic onto the bumper using a wet rag. DO NOT HEAT UP THE LIP WHILE ITS STILL ON YOUR BUMPER IT WILL F*CH UP YOUR PAINT!! Do these steps to both sides. The slower you are the better results you will get.

Now get your lip painted!!! (I got it painted for $120 same day )
Now that its painted place some double sided tape here

Place your lip on the car, and now you are going to put two screws on each side. The lip onlu came with 2 so I had to get some M6 screws at home depot along with some secure nuts.
Drill them in and they should look like this

And that’s almost it!! But if you don’t want your lip to fall of do this little mod I came up with .. remember the screw it that your lip came with? You’re going to use one of the metal brackets
Find the middle of the lip and see where the bracket meets the bumper. You might need to cut the bracket and drill some holes for it to work. Put it should look something like this:

And your done

Nice write up.

I just kinda slapped mine on. Fogs came later and there is no bracket in the middle. It scrapes almost everyday going into and leaving from work, but she's still there.

Mine are rusty as well, but you don't notice unless you're really looking for it. Sometimes I hit 'em with a Sharpie.
