Doc I's CF Battery Strap

I have enough material on-hand to make about half a dozen of these, maybe 8 at the outside. First come, first served, I'd like to get about $25 shipped apiece, but may be willing to negotiate a few bucks either way. PM me if you're interested.

is that an actual scion battery in the pic????
if it is, why are the threaded j-bolts so far away from the battery, the j-bolts need to be right next to the battery...
in other words your tie down seems too big...
can you put a tape measure next to it to clear up this question of mine?

The holes on my strap are actually 1/2" closer together than those on the OEM strap. OEM = 8 3/4", mine = 8 1/4". They're that far away from the battery because that's how wide the tray is. Any closer together and the J-bolts skew together like this: / \.
I won't fib-- there is some minor flex to the strap, as there would be with any CF piece. I'd say the strap deflects about 1/8" - 3/16" from end to end. It's quite hard to bend with your bare hands. It only shows flex when you torque the retainers down. But it's just there to hold the battery in place, as mine has been doing for the last few months with no problems. Hell, in my Honda, I had no battery strap at all.
It's a 100% appearance piece. I can't think of a single performance advantage, other than it may be a few grams lighter. I weighed it on the postal scale, and due to the light weight (and therefore cheaper postage), the first 6 people to get one pay $20 shipped. I just want to make enough to pay for my materials, and a little for my time. This isn't exactly an industry-- just one guy in his cramped workshop making a few parts for folks.
