i had mine done on my last car
i had 50% on the whole windshield and a 5% strip at the top
and i never had a problem
it helps when you have the strip because it makes it harder to tell that the front is tinted

I'm pretty sure tinting the whole windshield is illegal in almost every state. You can have a top visor, but it needs to be at or above the AS1 line.

if you go to a tint place they will give you a paper that you have to get a doctor to sign saying you have an eye or skin condition and you mail it to the state and they send you a paper saying you can have it

I used to own a car with 10% tint all around, even for the windshield. Had it for more than a year in a place where tint laws didn't exist. It's nice lookin from the outside, but dangerous from the inside at night, most probable cause of fender benders... But I got used to it.

For me, it's tinted all around or none at all! :D

i had 20% windshiled (whole thing) with 5% sides... windshield lasted 3weeks before i got pulled over twice in a 3 week period... its gone now, thinking about redoing it in a 30% ... i had 30% on my suburban for 2 years without issue... it all depends on the cops in your area, here in LR, the cops are pretty cool... i would never think of doing 20% or even 30% if i still lived in FL though...

^^ Ahhh.. That's what I'm talking about! Stealth mode!

10% was real dark, but you'll get used to it. Useful when you feel cheap and **** in the car with your girl! LOL!

I want to tint too, but I'm not going to use regular tint. I'm going to use that tint that has a light transmittance of like 60-70% but blocks out 99% of IR

Tinted windshields. I cant think of a dumber way to go. You'll get so many tickets, and sooner or later you will get to the point where you don't drive your car at night or take the risk and get out of your car and notice something horribly wrong with the front end of your vehicle. Yeah it looks good but cmon people this is a daily driver not hotwheeles.

Wow i couldnt imagine tinting it to 20 or even 30%.. i was a bit worried about doing 50%... i guess i'm not as scared to do it now though...

i'm just worried about tint tickets... i already got one for my front's (damn cops in my town don't have any real crime to fight... so they have tint and speeding tickets coming out of their a$$es). but anyways, i know that the next ticket is more which is the only reason ive been waiting to do even 50% on the front windows and windshield...

Some cops will take you to court for window tints and the judge wants proof that the tints were removed. That has happened a few times in chi.
