if i drive without my valve cover if that will affect my carbon fiber hood..im painting my valve cover and if it is unsafe to drive with it off i won't..please anybody

Without your VALVE COVER?! Might be bad if you don't want to spit oil all over your hood and ruin your engine...

I'm assuming you mean your ENGINE cover... which is just the plastic piece that goes over the valve cover.

I have started a 350 chevy with valve covers bolted on that had the whole top cut out of them :D

Of course, I was adjusting the valves on it, and on a pushrod (non-overhead cam) motor they dont sling oil everywhere :D You can adjust the valves with the engine running.

why? haha i;ve been driving my car for months with out the stupid plastic cover. i have my valve cover painted gold and it looks 100x better then any paint job done to that fugly plastic peice

just paint the metal peice it will look better, and less cheap

i thought he was driving around with no valve cover, that's the way he worded his first post.

this comment scares me since u drive alot and u do have the carbon fiber hood,

lol. Exactly what I was gonna respond with. Thats how I adjusted the rockers and such on my Stingray and Monte Carlo.
