Default dry carbon fiber

i know this might be in the wrong section , but id really like to see dry carbon fiber hoods and other parts. i think that would give our cars that extra little touch, yes i know its alot more money but still would be nice we already spends anywhere from 3-600 dollars for hoods. if it were to cost 2-300 more might as welll anyway just a thought

LOL 2-300 properly made DCF hoods will run near $1200 and not many people mass produce them.

^^yup that ish is expensive. I have only heard of full race or japanese companies that even make and market this so to make it for the tC would probably not be cost effective as to have this stuff shipped over seas since there are no tC's in japan, would be even more. If you really want one, you should have one custom made...probably cost you at least 1500 because it would be a one of a kind and take special preparation to make it properly...good luck

dry carbon fiber weighs much less then other carbon fibers. It also has a dull finish to it.

i read about it a lot and it really is just the finishing process.

dry carbon fiber is vaccumm formed. wet carbon is typically hand laid and then is coated in a epoxy resin. typically a wet carbon fiber piece is only 30% or so carbon and the rest is the epoxy / resin.

dry carbon doesn't necessarily have a dull finish because it can still be clear coated but the manufacturing of the piece is different.

DCF parts = x 1000000000000 $ of a CF part.

such a sick look to it though i guess you guys are right about the cost but it might be a nice touch i guess to have maybe some interior pieces done in it if it can be done reasonably
