Dynamat License Plate Kit??
Any reviews out there on the dynamat license plate kit. Its really annoying that everytime I close the trunk or hit a bump, I hear that rattle. This is supposed to stop it - any reviews/opinions or maybe something better?
I didn't really think about it too much. I figured that for $10 I could solve the problem. Foam tape never ocurred to me. Would it work as well as the dynamat? Licene plate rattles MUST stop! lol
A link for anybody who wants it, cheapest on the internet:

This is basically what I used

foam tape, like suggested abovce. I picked mine up at walmart. It's pretty permanent. I used the stuff to hang some posters at my old roomate's place and I opted to leave the posters on the wall rather than tear up the paint and plaster on the wall lol
I've used it on both my car and my girlfriends car ... and on just about anything that requires the use of tape but needs the foam buffer. ;)

^^ That looks like it would work, but its more expensive for that tape that it is for the dynamat license plate kit! lol
Maybe it says something that i've yet to come across ONE person thats ever bought the license plate kit...

I have a fatmat kit on my license plate. The thing about it is you can easily do it in a few minutes. No matter what you do take off any plastic or metal plate frame, since you can't bolt down the bottom it'll still rattle. I took mine off and added the fatmat. Was well worth the $6-11(can't remember how much it was) dollar investment.
yea, that foam mounting tape is more. I had bought it specifcally to mount some framed posters I have cus its some pretty strong stuff. I just happened to think the foam would be good to elimiate the rattle, and the strong double sided adhesive would hold the frame itself in place.
When I wrecked the first tC, it was actually quite a task getting my liscense plate frame off the car. Held up well under daily weather conditions.
You don't think you'd have any other purpose for that stuff? It's pretty handy! :D

lol, true...you never know when it could be useful around the house
I find it amazing that I know nobody with a dynamat license kit though...it must really not be very popular!

i bought that kit like last week, its doin good for me, but im not as creative as the rest of you, im a silly impatient teen
but i think the money was worth it, plus i like the licence plate cover hehe
I just used foam weather stripping. I stuck the sticky side to the plate around the edges on both my front and rear plate. I wasn't thinking about noise as much as I was thinking about protecting the paint from the plate. Seems to work well for noise. I suppose I should take the plates off to see if the foam side is having any effect on the paint though.

I bought a roll of some 3/4" weather seal stuff you use on door frames from home depot for $4. And from one roll you could do about 4-5 plates... You just stick it on the border of the plate. Just make sure you put the adhesive side on the plate and not the car... I have no rattles at all.
