okay.. first calm down... i would like you to edit your title just to keep it a little more friendly. it sucks that everything happened.. but the best thing you can do at this point is to calm down.

it looks like mainly your front oem ground lip got cracked.. that can be replaced... i would contact josh or ken at trdsparks.. they have very good prices and can help you out.

as far as the grille... it just pops in and out... so you can just put it back in.

i dunno what to do insurance wise... just good luck with everything else.

yeah it was an accident while you are in the operation or control of the car, it would be considered a no fault accident. who is your insurnace company, also the damage does not look bad.......the grill will probably snap back in, and you can easily replace the lower ground effect, the thing that snapped on the bottom is the tab that holds it to the undertray.

it may be considered comprehensive, read your policy.....this was something that not your fault, and that was a "act of nature".

daym that sucks.., sorry to hear.... if ur thinking of getting a lip kit.. maybe u should go with the abs dynamics one in cf or abs... hopefully everything turns well and i wouldn't tell the insurrance company ur premiums will just go up... and ur deductable is already practically the same amount as it would cost to get it replaced and painted.. good luck.. make ur bf pay for it..

I don't think your insurance premium will go up if you don't make a claim. From the photos, I think the damage to the lip can be repaired at a body shop with a fibreglass repair kit. I don't think its necessary to buy a new lip for this. Don't think of this as an auto accident... think of it as though your neighbour pushed a garbage can into your car.

thats not worth turning it into your insurance...it will cost you more in the long run...its just the ground effects kit...it will cost a heck of a lot less to fix than insurance...

and chill out girl, it could have been worse...calm down jeez

I feel way worse for the racoon than I do for your car. You just killed an animal that was minding it's own business, and all you can think about is your stupid lip kit?

Wow. I'm losing faith in humanity, one day at a time.

Dude, she hit a racoon....not a child. Get a grip. Let's be glad she didn't swerve in an attempt to miss the poor little animal and kill someone.

its a racoon - nobody gives a crap. he didnt look both ways...he is not considered a pedestrian. I feel bad for the car..not the girl, not the racoon.

what did the car have to do with this?

It's like this....if I can SAFELY avoid hitting an animal, I will. I feel bad anytime I kill an animal with my car (birds, rabbits, squirrels...whatever). BUT, if hitting that animal somehow actually damages my car, that's when I stop feeling bad for the animal.

BACK ON TOPIC!- You should just buy a new front lip http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...7&parts_id=585 . They are not that much. I'm sure there is a decent paint shop in your area that can match the color. Then just have yourself (or a knowledgeable friend) re-install it. PM Kilo6_one because he just painted and installed his front lip. I'm sure he can give you a ballpark figure on this. Steer clear of the Ins. They will just screw you in the end.

I've never felt even a hint of remorse for any of the animals I've bounced off of the front end of any of my cars. I remember the last dog I hit, my first throught was, "That better not have messed up my car."

No one should feel bad about it, unless they knew the raccoon personally, and could then harbor some feelings of loss or resentment over the loss of a loved one/friend. Otherwise, call the ER, because your heart is bleeding all over the place.

To the original poster: NEVER SWERVE, unless the animal stands taller than you do. I saw a woman total a '65 1/2 Mustang into a utility pole trying to dodge a cat. They haven't made that Mustang in over 40 years-- cats usually pop out 7-10 at a time.
