ERASING SHARPIE MARKER OFF OF TRUNK
my friends car just got tagged in queens today and i was wondering if anyone knew a way to get sharpie marker off of his car. Any help would be appreciated..q=P
try some rubbing alcohol. dont use too much, it will definetely take off your paint and possibly dull the paint slightly. make sure you dont let it settle too long either.
Or you can just drink the vodka and forget anything ever happened.
There is a product I use at work made by the makers of GooGone specifically for removing marker. Im not 100% if its safe for painted surfaces or not but Ive used it on painted metal doors and worked great. Should be able to find it at a hardware store...just read the label first and if you use it test on a very small area first.

Well, acetone would take that sharpie right off but I'm not sure what it would do to your paint. I imagine take it off too.
I don't think clay barring it will lift the marker, the permanent marker bond is pretty strong.

i had a pen exploded on a computer monitor(at work) someone left the pen on top during the vacation....
n e how, she used acetone to remove the ink and guess what? it was eatting the plastic off the monitor!!
let me see... should i use acetone now on the car? lol

dont even think about acetone, it will eat through the clear coat and paint easily, i work with acetone to melt plexi glass and make glue. Just use the mr. clean stuff, there is sum tag off spray type of stuff at pep boys for taggin, and vodka will do fine. Just stay away from highly corrosive elements
My dad used rubbing alcohol on his s2000 to get some sticky glue stuff off and it seemed to work fine, without damaging the paint. Just make sure you wash that part and put a little bit of wax over the spot afterward.
Goo Gone will not effect your paint. It is a citrus based product and is not strong enough to do damage. There are similarly named paroducts such as "Goof Off" which are chemical based that are much more aggressive and may cause issues with the paint.
well nail polish remover isn't highly concentrated. The lady bought a canister from a hardware store -_- imagine teh wohle office smelling!
so i guess nail polish remover should be weak enough, just rinse with water?
