Get real eyelids, not the cheap vinyll that'll fade and peel right away.

 

That "cheap vinyl" doesn't peel off right away if you follow some simple prep guidelines before applying. Vinyl can be removed much easier than paint if you were to change your mind later.

 

i've had my overlays for almost a year and they still look great. but i would definetly get the fiberglass ones mentioned above if i liked the lines better. i mean, it would look a hundred times better if it met at the end of the hood as opposed to a half inch lower.

 

NIA has some nices ones too. They will even paint them for you if you would like.

I have plenty of experience with vinyl eyelids, and the hard plastic ones like Flea has shown (I have the same as him, thanks flea, haha)

Not only are the vinyl's more of a PITA to remove because of the adhesive sticking and being very messy, but also from my experience the sun takes the chemicals or something from the vinyl and soaks them into the lense of the headlight. I wish I would've gotten a picture of it, but after removing my vinyl eyelids my headlight was dyed a reddish color that only went away after a couple weeks in the sun.


The plastic paintable eyelids will just come off, and the 3m adhesive isn't near as messy as the vinyl glue is.

 

A friend of mine has a ebay store called "Fibre Customs".

I opted to paint mine...seeing as there are numerous variations of each color.

I have 3 sets of eyelids coming in on Monday or Tuesday. One set is going to be FM for a customer who's tail lights I'm in the process of tinting and the other two sets will be up for grabs.

 

The other set I am sending to RCZDesigns. One set up for grabs.
