Five Axis Install thread
Well I decided to do an install thread of the Five Axis kit, I will include lots of pictures as I go.
This kit I got used. Well sort of the sides and rear are new in the bags but the front was installed to a car previously the shop that did it did not use screws to install it at the front and it came off
that car on the freeway and was ran over, the lip was cracked at both corners pretty bad but about $40 and 15 hours later I got them fixed with a poly repair and good to go.
I will be fitting the sides tomorrow and hopefully the rear same day, she goes to paint on Tuesday. Very excited
Wanted to add some pictures to the thread...we are going to paint on Tuesday so I have this weekend to fit the sides....nothing like a time limit to make it a nightmare.....lol

This is the first step, spent about 15 hours now fixing the damage to the front lip, it is now perfect ,fitment of the kit is very good, I have a small scrape it is covering on the bumper where I drove over
a curb on the way to PDXmas at the McDs on the way down, only about 1/4" of it will still show, very happy, still gotta tear off the sides tomorrow and fit the back tomorrow. I will keep posting up pictures as I go. lol..
here is the next batch of pictures......a lot of sanding to make it nice and flush, Dremel and barrel sander are a must, then palm sander with 80 grit to smooth and make it cleanly fit.
the sides area easy to remove.
Take out screw from each wheel well, take out screw from under neath the front each side, pop out the 5 plug pins on each side, grab at the back side of the sideskirt and pull out, do this with door open,
there are white plugs holding it to the body along the jamb, then pop out the last plug pin at the front and off it comes.
Install each new skirt and drill in set screws to each jamb, two each side, they need to be 1 3/4" long to go in good, pre-drill the holes and be sure to tape up the jamb by where you area drilling so the drill chuck does not hit the paint.
Well here are some pictures......starts with driver side first fitment, then sanding the jamb at back of door and the back edge where it meets body, tape the body up good and take time sanding to get a good smooth meeting edge.
also if you sand the back side of the door jamb on the sideskirt by where the kit meets the door and the body panel it goes on closer and nice and tight,
there is a lot of material on the side skirt so sand away, it is thick, use a Dremel and a barrel sander to shape the jamb to meet up flush and then palm sander to blend.

Now for a lot of sanding by hand. Sides have to come back off and go through the standard 220, 400, 800, 1000, 2000 grit wet sanding prior to paint. Lots of work
Still gotta trim off some of the back due to the angle out HKS,the kit is made for straight out or stock exhaust......
More pictures to come, she goes to paint Tuesday, so most likely next Saturday I am doing an install if all goes well.......Wooo Hoo.

no problem,I have not taken offthe sides before so I will take pictures of the how to....hoping I do not hav e to take the underglows off to do it but sure I will.......think there are tabs there that need to come out........
have you prefit your kit yet........the front seems like it does not fit then you move the sides up or down a bit and it goes right in place,it is a tough one to do,I am sure I will need 3 people to do final install.
I have to trim the back just a bit for the HKS too,not much as the can sits so low it is mostly out of the way, jsut a small amount to keep it all symetrical and clean.
the shop is also doing the rear withthe two tone black under neath and body color onthe outer part......costing me $50 more to have them do it but that is ok........
Paint for the kit is kinda high though,$804,but that is finish sanding on the poly to get it perfect, prime, paint, two tone on the back and wet sand so no orange peel and then buff......I am trying to get $100 off that for prepping the panels myself so they do not have to......but I might run out of time.

Well spent this weekend fititng and trimming and wet sanding and aprts are as of this moment at the paint shop, supposed to be ready WEdnesday,so hoping to have pictures wednesday of the painted parts and maybe even of them installed.......cross your fingers.
I will prior to install take pictures of the trimming needed to make kit clear the HKS cannister, and the measurements for where the kit should sit onthe body and where the holes in front and rear need drilled along with the under carrage brackets for the rear and sides, been a long weeks worth the work.
the sides would work with the RS3 kit.The front of the 5 axis side is only 3/4" lower than stock and the back is just over an 1 1/4" lower than stock, the illusion really sits with how the sides of the stock ones roll under and the 5 axis runs nearly straight down, gives it a much lower look.
Having seen the RS3 in person I would say if you can find a person selling the sides separate snag them up,there is some trimming at the door jamb with a dremel and a barrel sander, but other than that it is straight forward sanding to blend the edge to teh body.

I have a great body/paint work guy that blended the pearl and black candy coat on my carbon fiber hood. I would have him take care of the fitment but for now, I gotta finish up my turbo tweaking
Anyone near central florida have one on their car that I can take a peek at?

Looks good Brian. Yeah like you said, the front fits pretty well, if I remember correctly, we didn't have any fitment issues until we hit the sides and rear.
