Default Flickering HID lights vs. Solid HID kits

checkout youtube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AMr3...=youtube_gdata

You can see ours compare to others. On the left, the light is flickering the whole time. poorly made HID kits will flicker. it's not the installation but simply a bad kit.

post your experience~

I was wondering what your exchange policy is if a bulb goes out within 2 weeks of having the kit? I bought 3 kits but only 1 had a bad bulb. I turned my lights on and went to look at them and I could see a thick fog seeping out of the bulb which I assume is the gas inside of the bulb. Please let me know. Thank you.

how many fuses were on the relay, not saying the relay itself will solve the issue, but in most cases people that experience flickering even from the legit companys HID kit, usually have it hooked up to there stock power, which is no good.......but some can get away with it and others cant..

This is a bit of a misnomer, you can make any HID kit flicker by not putting in the proper amount of power to it or having a bad voltage regulator. Heck even a bad connection is sometimes to blame.

Not saying a HID kit can't flicker, they do but those are earlier kits. We have some inexpensive kits and if you want non-flicker, they are non-flicker, but some even the most expensive ones flicker.

My kits from DDM never flicker. Had them in a WRX and the tC. And never had a special relay for them.

yea it depends on the car......i know me personally i would never run a hid kit through stock power as its not meant for it,i always use a relay since its safer....but i know people that run on stock power with no problems,,so i guess you can have it both ways

1) I'm not bashing anybody, any company, etc.!

I just called hidextra and spoke to a lady that I could barely understand. She was not rude though. I noticed the $43.99 HID kit minus the relay blowout sale. I thought to myself, wow that's a great deal! I asked some questions and here's what she told me. Their ballasts are 35 watts (she said only 10% less bright vs. competitors with 50-55 watt ballasts and the $43.99 deal is for the regular ballasts, not the slimline ballasts. Honestly, I've already looked at ddmtuning.com already (a friend told me about them) but because of the deal with choosing the desired color because of the 55 watt ballasts causing washout with lower kelvin bulbs....so I'm not sure who to order from. I'm one of those guys who would love to order a high-end kit for $100 or more but I cannot afford it. Therefore, I am forced with ordering the best kit that I can for around 50-75 bucks. Unless someone changes my mind I guess I'm going to order from ddmtuning. Anybody got other feedback at all? I don't have any issues or problems with any hid company, I've never ordered any hid's before. I've seen everyone's comments in this thread and some other hid threads so don't think I've not looked around before posting this.
Oh, and regardless of which company I order from I have a 07 with stock headlight housings. I'm looking to order whichever kelvin temperature bulbs that will give me a bright whitish/bluish tint. My main concern IS seeing well and not color. My second concern is the color. I just want to make sure I'm getting bulbs that DO have a tint of blue, not just a solid white color

You might add that even the top of the line H.I.D. kits can/will flicker if you've got day time running lights. I've got halo running lights, and my kit flickered until I installed my wiring harness.... I know it's the way of the business to compete with competitors, but CHEAP H.I.D. kits aren't the only ones that flicker...

I installed an H3 kit on my car and the driver side works fine but the passenger does not. I swapped bulbs thinking its the bulbs but it isn't. Only thing left to assume is either the relay harness or ballast. I bought the kit from HIDExtra earlier in the week and shipping was fast but I'm having this issue. First time it happened with my H11's I skipped the warranty process because it was too tedious. Can you help me out on this one??
