!FOG LIGHT QUESTION!
i've been wanting to buy the fog light kit for my '06 tc but i have one doubt that's keeping me from buying it. my question is...what's the distance, in inches, between both fog lights (starting from the inner part of the fog light)? from 0<~~~~>0 and not from ~~~~>0 to 0<~~~~ it would be greatly appreciated, thx!
that is one mod on my wish list, but im asking cause im looking to purchasing the euro style plates for now. i need a total clearance of atleast 22" from the stock scion fog light kit. BTW, did u do the lighting on ur tc urself? i've been wanting to put led's on the tail light (like yours) but never got around to grow some huevos? u have pix of ur do-it-yourself project?
sounds like alot of blocked air. wouldnt do it IMO.. plus, the car isnt from europe, your not in europe.. so.. its kinda pointless. if yer rockin a BMW, or VW.. then yeah, itd be cool... but yer rockin a tC...
X2 - Have to agree with magyver, you'd be blocking a lot of air. If you saw the pic in my profile, I don't even run a front plate - it's in the trunk with the spare tire (been stopped for it too, but it's still not going back on). IMO it looks best without a plate of any kind cluttering up the front end, but that's just me.
There's also those that don't like the factory fogs, and feel aftermarket lights tucked into the outboard recesses are the way to go. I considered that first, even putting Lexus fogs there, but went factory because I got them for a good price. I like the way both the factory and say a nice set of PIAAs look, and can always change them if I want, but that's what it's all about - it's what you like, and what you want; not what anybody else tells you to like.
If a euro plate is what you want, that's up to you. You'd have more room if you didn't do the factory fogs, and possibly still have some air flow as well. Photoshop it first, or ask somebody to do it for you - that's by far the easiest way to tell if you're going to like it or not.
BTW, if you do get the factory fogs, don't pay full price - they're not worth what they charge. I got mine brand new for less than half of even what Sparks or McGeorge sell them for. Check PPC or ebay, you'll see them every once and a while.

i had originally came up with the idea in my head and i thought it was going to look good, but after i actually photoshoped it, it really isnt all that appealing.
in the past with my previous cars i had taken off the plates cause i never liked them and i still dont, but i kept getting run-ins with the law and the fines were adding up to quite a bit.
deuce, how did u fill in the holes where ur plates used to be to give it that clean look, or did u?
and that circle thing on the bumper underneath the headlight/above the fog light, is that a censor or what is it?

AtC - Here's a link to another thread about the holes in the bumper. I did mine the way I did (sorry, don't have a close up pic) in case I need to put the plate back on - so far, I've only had it on when the car gets inspected once a year. They do make filler plugs specifically for this reason, as explained in this thread, but the $ is a bit much for a couple pieces of plastic if ya ask me.

The circle on the bumper pops out, as this is a cover for the tow hook. I believe if you get hauled onto a flatbed, they hook up the cable there.
