Fogs behind lower grille
I have had this idea to put some round (traditonal style) yellow fogs behind the lower grille of the tc..2 or 4(rally style) I'm not sure yet. I can't do it yet cause I've been in Thailand for the last 3 weeks but what do you guys think about the feasability of this project?
I'm not sure yet how to mount the fogs, what ones will fit and what it will look like.
Any comments/suggestions?

I asked about the feasability of putting fogs behind the lower grill a while back. The response that I got was that the mesh grill disperses the light everywhere and doesn't really provide any extra illumination. They said it would be better to cut holes in the grill for the lights to sit flush in so that they're not behind the grill.

well i have stock fogs and i recently put over billet grille insert over them a few weeks ago. the light output is definently affected. lets just say that if you really like to use your fogs that you you should prolly cut holes
Well I'm still gonna do it when I get back to Atlanta, probably use 4 4" (if they fit) yellow lense round fogs..
I'll keep everyone posted with pics and what not when I get started on it

Well it may sound cool to have them behind the grill. But also think about the heat from the bulbs... will it melt the grill or warp it in any way... Testing is better when you know more about it.
How did you mount them? I tried a number of different ways to get the small Hella Micro DE's behind the side inlets and I just couldnt make them work and be solidly mounted so they wouldnt move. Props to the people who got fogs in the side inlets, it's not easy... at least with the lights I tried.
As for putting them behind, you light will be halfed if not more. I put a light behind there just to see what it would look like and it got very dim.

p.s. not trying to hijack anybodies post
.
Hey don't worry about it you're not hijacking I'm not sensitive unlike some members on sl...
Anyways I read through the thread where you did the how to- I have a feeling that it will help me alot. I think in some of the pictures from inside the space of the lower grille I saw a crossmember which I can bolt the fogs too, which I never would have known was there unless I jacked up the car myself - Thanks. Can you confirm if it's metal or not?
I'm checking out sciongirls.com right now cause some girl in your post said she saw a girl on there who had fogs on the lower grille- thanks again for your help gwtc

Before you start throwing extra lights on your car, check your local laws. Here in Ohio, you are only allowed to have 3 extra lights on the front of your car, so by law, if you have those led windshield washer lights on as well as your fog lights, the police can pull you over and give you a ticket. I don't want to rain on your parade, I just want to help you avoid some possible hassle.

I checked out the install guide for the factory fogs and found out the wiring harness is basically all there and all you have to do is add some wires up front, one to ground and to the fogs, and then add a relay and switch inside the cabin to the existing fog light harness there and you're set! No need to run any wires through the firewall.
