Default Following In Dieselstations Footsteps!!! Updates!!! pg.2

Ok so after I saw dieselstaions post about tinting his tails for $5 I thought "hey why not give it a shot!"

So I did and here is how everything came out...

Starting out...Used the Pactra Window Tint for RC Cars...$5.95 a can, used 2 cans

Taping that dang reverse light SUCKS!!!

First Couple of Coats on...

One with the first coats of tint on...next one getting ready...

Waiting to buff out the clear and get that glossy shine!!!

And Finally the Finished Product!!
Thanks Dieselstation for the idea (he gets the credit for these)
Also to FLEA for helping me (the noob) Through the process!

Comments please!

Looks nice, but now that I'm now seeing your pics I think you should definitely put some more clear coat on that...that's if you want that really glossy shine. I would take the clear coat and unload a bunch of it on there from about 8 inches away. Personally that's what I do, until I am able to clearly see my reflection in the tail light or the interior pieces...or whatever I'm painting.

I will definitely try that after i get out of school today and its warm out side. These pics don't do the tails justice but thank you for all the comments. After i clear more today and wet sand the imperfections out i will post more pics. Thanks Guys!!!

Very Cool. I think im gonna try this on my headlights and tail lights when I get home. Not too dark just a little bit. What would you use to polish these?

even with clearcoat mine came out kinda spotty, so i'm going to wait for some warmer weather and wetsand and take it a little slower, i was waiting 30-40 minutes between coats, and this time i'm going to wait an hour and wetsand to even it out for the next coat. slow and steady yields the best results.

i'll have to do it on a weekend i don't plan to use my car because i don't have another set of tails to use lol.
