Unless your boyfriend is seriously mechanically deficient he could probably do them... lol (You'll need a spring compressor, ratchet and metric sockets, and an alignment done at a shop after an install)

Also I know I am offering my springs to sell to you, but another option for you (preparing to get flamed... lol) are Raceland coilovers.

Depending on how many miles you have on your car and what condition your stock struts are in you might be better off going that route.

The Racelands, like all coilovers, replace your old strut and the spring, so if your old struts were bad then... well u get it!

I have Racelands on my car, and i love them.

There has been an epic debate on the Raceland coilovers' durability and ride, but the people who actually bought them mostly agree that they are a great deal for the money and a lot better over stock struts/aftermarket springs.

They run about $300 shipped and require the same skill and labor to install as installing lowering springs.

On the coilovers, you can raise the ride height from any where from stock hight to waayyyy down to like 3" lower (don't quote me on that low-ness). you could basically fine tune your height to somewhere that is acceptable to PA roads.

To sum up: For a little more money you could get adjustable ride height, new struts, and springs. ( Although if you want the springs they're in the box ready to ship!)

racelands are good for the money but she doesn't need all that. springs are good enough she's not looking to adjust the height constantly

also, while i have nothing against raceland, I have seen quiet a few people need replacement struts and while they have a great warranty I dont think she wants to worry about changing struts if they go bad.

From raceland: Raceland assumes no responsibility for any accident, injury, death or damage which may be related to disassembly of the product performed by non-Raceland mechanics.
