Default Front Spoiler Design

I was browsing around online and came upon 5Zigen's time attack Accord Euro/TSX. I noticed the wing on the front of the car and what immediately ran into my mind was the front wing that Chris Rado had on his time attack tC before he moved on to the new AWD tC. What do you guys think of this front spoiler design? I know there's really no use for every day cars, but how would you time attackers and auto-x-ers feel about this kind of wing riding on your hood? Would there be much of a difference in preformance between the two?

I'm just curious. I know there's no need for one unless you're driving at high speeds, but its just a comparison of visual design and whether or not one would perform better than the other.
