Default To get or not to get CF hood!

Recently I have been contemplating on where to spend my limited budget of $1,450 on parts for my car. So far in my list I have: Tien H tech springs, Injen Intake, Magnaflow exhaust, and tint my windows, 15% on all five windows. Now I am also thinking of getting a CF hood but heres the thing, a bunch of my friends, including my dad thought that with my car being an '06 classic silver with the pedestal spoiler, TYC tailights, black mudguards, and carbon fiber pilars, they said that I would destroy the classiness look of the car. Mainly they said that with the hood being there, the car looks like it recently got into an accident and I got a black hood from a junk yard and put it in there. My other set of friends said that it would look sporty, ("an Initial D JDM look that I was actually thinkin' of goin for"). Can anyone please tell me if this set up would look good. I am also thinking about painting the two side edges of the hood, where the hood slopes down towards the panels. Please help, any advice or comments I can get about this set up would be most appreciated...Thanx a lot!

Oh yeah, I was goin' to paint the side of the hoods the same color as the body of the car, so that sloping effect from the hood flows through perfectly with the color of the body. And to add one more thing, I was also thinking of keeping the stock rims for now and was wonderin' if this look would be good with a carbon fiber hood.

i think it will look alrite, but your money can be spent on other parts... what is your taste? performance? show? track? what?

i personally would spend my money on something else, like a nice set of wheels..

a wheel or a bodykit
thats what i will go for.
by the way how much are u guys willing to spend on the wheels? because my friend said its worth to buy those $$$ wheels, u get what u paid for.
but i am thinking 3000~4000 is too much for me for rims.

Darn it...the thing is that I just bought all 4 new set of tires also on these stock 17 inch wheels, I got the Nanking brand tires which cost me around $420 and some change. And I need to know whether or not to get the hood for my classic silver tC. This is imperative cause I am going to an Englishtown, NJ car meet by this friday. One of the girls there who owns an '05 Flint Mica tC has a great lookin' set up as far as cosmetics. On her car she's got a CF hood w/ APR CF wind splitter and CF canards as well as CF Wheel well trims, and a CF trunk w/ a CF lip spoiler (I think that was all of the CF parts she's got outside of her car.) She's also painted the spokes of her stock wheel black and left the outer edge lip alloy color. The car was hot as crazy, and that goes for her too! But her car's performance was crap (engine was generally stock), except for some spring mods that the car might have had. I wanna impress her since I think she's into CF parts for cars but I don't know if I will destroy the look of my classic silver tC!

eh...dont do something to your car just to impress someone if your gonna regret it later on. i personally do not think think that BLACK c/f looks good on a silver tC, but you can get silver c/f which looks TIGHT

as stated above, a tC cant be jdm in any means, shape, or form. it is only released in the USofA.

If u wanna get a cf hood (yes it will look good), order it now and expect to wait ATLEAST 1 month to get it. mine has been on order for more then a month, and im told it will be here mid-may... sigh

I think it would look terrible and be a waste of money..

Maybe if the stock hood was actually heavy, then yeah.. But with a 9 pound savings, it is not worth it.

more like 12 lbs? for car handling... that is alot.

for looks... ehh.. it's your taste... i like it. just don't be too flashy about it.

THE TC and JDM DO NOT GO TOGETHER

CF is really becoming overdone now.... it doesn't save enough weight on our heavy car to be worth it, and you need to commit to make it right... for example CF hood, CF Roof, CF Trunk.... to ACTUALLY do some good....

I'd spend it on some of the many other things that will actually do more for the $

9 pounds, 12 pounds.. it doesn't matter. You will not be able to feel a difference.

For the price it's one of the dumbest mods you can do. Especially for the tC which already has a fairly light hood. If you want more performance or better handling there for SEVERAL other things you can do with that money that will actually show results.

If you want to be 12 pounds lighter go on a diet or take out your spare tire for free. Don't spend $300 to do it.

maybe some (like me) want it for looks, and not weight reduction.

That's why you shouldn't get it.... too many want CF for looks... and lessen the uniqueness and utility of the part...

I can't count how many integras, civics, rsxs, crxs... etc.... I see with CF hoods... and that's my biggest motivation against them.

you WILL feel the difference, its 12lbs off the front of the car...for a car that is FWD..that= ALOT...

but like tim said, it is being played out nowadays... maybe people should try to spice it up a little... not sure how!??!!

but i still suggest SILVER c/f as it looks really nice imho...

and im getting alot of JDM parts for my tC... does it mean that my car is JDM, no.. will i say my car is JDM NO...

No you won't, it's a 12lbs. difference on a 2,900 lbs. car, it doesn't matter if the weight reduction is on the front, in the middle, or in the back.. You aren't going to feel a difference.

Colored carbon fiber really jacks up the price over regular CF, doesn't it?
