I organized the thread.

So i put all of the pictures that were posted throughout the pages onto the first post. FMW!

 

kinda of off topic, but has your wife already left for boot camp? or is she still in WI?

 

She left for boot camp already.

She graduates September 3rd, actually!

probably not, it's been a cool 8. good and bad crap, but overall i can't complain. i love going on our sea deployments.

What's your opinion of on base housing?

The wife and I are debating if we want to stay in them or not.

 

depends on where you live. i'm currently stationed in miami, fl where i wouldn't suggest for an e-3 or even an e-4 to live out in town. now in a place that has a cheaper cost of living like VA, then i'd look at the base housing they have. some base housing is REALLY nice, other not so much. it might work out better if you guys stay in housing to begin with, just to establish yourselves and set up shop. if you can get a furnished house i'd say base housing for a few months. if you move into base housing with your own furniture, you'll have to foot the bill for moving out on the economy. so it may end up a bigger hassle. if you move to your own place from the jump they move you. find out the rules of that base before you make a decision to move into housing though.
