i just got my windows tinted 20%. Awesome color. Going to tint the fronts 35. Tint guy wouldn't do cause its illegal, but my skin gets really irritated by the sun and at night poeple's lights hurt my eyes and it takes a while to refocus on the road.

In any case, hope it doesn't happen again. It's cool the dealer covered it.
I suppose anything is possible, but I highly doubt it. I guess time will tell if the same thing happens again. I am very happy the dealer covered it, because it would have been a pretty penny to replace a window.

I had to laugh at that because I'm the same way. As a matter of fact, I had the same thing happen to me on the window that was replaced so he is coming back out today to re-tint it.

i have the same problem...

if you look down the window channel, there are TWO weather strips. the one you see when you sit in the seats, and another set BELOW that one... (you have to pry between the first strips and see into the window channel to see it) that's causing the problems. i got my tint done by some shop and the guy who did it told me that the tC was VERY hard to do because of that... he didn't mention the extra strip below the surface, all he said was that he had to roll the windows back up and to come back in two days.

so i come back in two days and he's not there, but the other tint guy does it for me. a few days later, i start hearing sqeaks and notice that the window isn't rolling up as smooth as it should. i look between the first trips to see wth is wrong and lo and behold i see the second strip all mangled. i realized then that the original guy who id the job didn't mean his SHOP had to roll the windows, but he HIMSELF since he was the only one that knew about it. i've been searching this forum on a how to to remove the door panel since i don't know if i will have time to bring it back to the guy... so can anyone help?

I'm in FL and a local tint shop said that 24% was legal on the front doors and 16% on the side/back windows. Voiding my warranty and not getting a receipt, I went 16% all around and its looking hot

I used to tint windows, and I always took the door panel off to remove the entire window when I could. Some windows arent removable though, but the TC's are. Your tinters should be doing this. It allows you to get to the whole glass. Plus you're not pushing anything down into the window guides that could scratch your tints when you open 'em. That's probably where its scratching. Debris in that channel. Ive also seen where someone installed door speakers that had magnets rubbing the glass. Not always, but out of nowhere the glass would rub. It looked like it would clear the speaker when the panel was removed, but sometimes it rubbed.

I'll be getting it done at Toyota, so that should be as quality as it can get eh?

I Had 5% tint done professionally all around in my Prelude. It is real nice during the day, and at night on bright streets it's ok, but when it's dark it is very difficult to see. I have to open my door or roll down the window to reverse. Overall, I would not recommend it (unless you involve yourself in illegal activities).

I'm going with 20% all around. Best overall choice in my opinion.
