Default Got in an accident last night...

I was merging from Rossville Blvd to Rt.7 north, if you know where that is. My direction of traffic had the green light and went into a yielded merge to go right. The woman in front of me came to a complete stop so I did too, she looked to check for traffic, NOBODY was there, she went all the way out into the lane and slammed on her brakes again... by that time I had already started to go and couldn't stop before I was in her trunk. And on top of that, there was a Baltimore City cop behind me that SAW her go out too and then stop again for nothing and he plowed into the back of me cuz he couldn't stop in time either.... ugh. So now I need a new hood, front bumper, right headlight, repainted right front fender, and new rear bumper!

Total damages to my car are $2500. The woman I hit was Kenyan and smoke nearly no English. Her car was barely damaged, needed a new rear bumper but that's it. I've had my car for 2 and a half years and never had an accident. I got a ding in the door two weeks ago from some a-hole in a parking garage, but I JUST got inside my door and banged it back out and touched it up, good as new. Also had JUST fixed my alternator whine this same weekend! Then I go out last night and this happens...

On top of it all, it's my birthday today lol, what an awesome start. Pics to come if people are interested...

its cool man

i plowed into a rail coming down a place called turnbull canyon
my insurance is covering it right now but the damages were to the right side of the front bumper, my right headlights are busted in, fender is torn up, right rear bumper, and a lil bit of damage to the inside of my car

havent gotten a quote on how much its gonna be to repair but im looking at around $3000 thank god for insurance sometimes lol

i have hids installed too but theyre gonna put on an oem headlight so my left side is gonna be brighter than my left =[

happy belated bday btw =p

look at the bright side. At least the cop was there so the _____ couldn't say you rear ended her.

I'll have pictures up by tonight guys.... I would love to get a body kit, but I don't have the cash for that, especially with my rates on the rise. And yea I don't really think I should be at fault considering she was in the middle of the lane already, we had the green, she had already stopped and then took off, and a cop saw the whole thing...

However, legally I'm at fault I believe

you might be able to claim that she is at fault. Just have the witness (cop) write a statement saying that her erratic driving cause the accident. and send that to your insurance. If i were you i'd do all that i could to keep my rates from going up.

somebody told me about a case like this before, he said some girl rear ended an old lady who couldn't understand the traffic devices, essentially the old lady got confused because there were green orbs saying that straight thru traffic had the right of way, but the left turn arrows were red, so left turns were not allowed, but the old lady was confused and stopped at the green light, and was rear ended by the young girl driving behind her. the judge worked hard and found that the old lady was not at fault because the law says "when the light is green, you MAY proceed" so she technically didn't have to, which is BS because it is ILLEGAL to stop on a road way and obstruct traffic for no reason. i'd talk to a lawyer. if she pulled out into the middle lane and then stopped, she stopped in the middle of a road way, which is illegal.

Haha, depends on who you talk to...in ANYBODY's right mind, it's the woman's fault, but legally it's mine...

I'm talking to the insurance company tomorrow to see if they'll let me off as the "victim" of her reckless driving lol, doubt it'll happen though. The majority of my damage AND her damage came from the cop slamming into me anyway.
