tctctc I wasnt being picky, your posts were not specific. I was simply asking if you were referring to my post about figure grills, and your reply was that they were ebay, which didnt tell me either way what you were saying. Anyone can sell any product on ebay. Your statement about it being the ones in the first two links was all that was needed. Other than loosening up a bit...

I am not putting them down.. just going by the link that the OP posted. If the VRD's are not plastic, then the ebay ad he linked is not the part it claims to be.

And ABS is fine, it is what the stock grills are made of. So even if they are plastic, I am not saying that is bad either.

my VRD grill is alot more sturdier than OEM, i wanted fig along time ago because it was similar to the RS1 grill somewhat. after finding out about it bending easily, chipping and having to use zip ties i quickly moved away from it, it looks like a gutter guard grill? the VRD is probally 2nd best in my book.

VRD

I dont know who told you that fig bends easy... Like I said, mine has taken some very hard hits multiple times and has never thought of bending or chipping. You would pretty much have to try to bend one to do it. Using zip ties is no biggie either. It is a grill, and they are not visible. They certainly hold better than the crappy plastic clips the OEM grill is held on by. The times my fog grill took a cone and knocked it completely out, the zip tied in figure portion of it was still in place sturdy as could be, the stock plastic clips that hold the OEM frame it would come loose.

engifineer, i'm sure everyone, or at least almost everyone knows that Ebay is a site where people sell stuff, and they don't make their own products.

Those "RS1" replica plastic EBAY grills are ebay grills because thats where the only place their sold. As far as I know. Thats why I called them ebay grills. Makes sense to me?

Also fig grills suck because they require screwing into the body work to be installed... ir even better, zip tied. VRD is like an OEM replacement which is what alot of people are looking for. Their nice looking but not worth the hassle imo.

Well, personally I dont find drilling a few holes in some plastic tabs too challenging I guess if that is not for someone, then those are not for them.

And I like the look of the fig grills better than the look of the VRDs (again, I am not saying anything against VRD.. just my personal preference), as do a lot of other people who have them. So the extra 10 minutes it took me to install them was well worth it to me. They fit spot on, they look great, they are powder coated flat black (I dont like shiny grills) they are sturdy, etc. They also have a perfect fitting fog grill replacement for the OEM fogs, which I have. So there is absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Funny how I can state what I like and still say the VRDs look great... and all the VRD fans have to come out swingin

And again plenty of good companies chose to sell through ebay. So simply saying "ebay parts" doesnt mean anything, especially if someone is wanting to know the particular ones you are talking about. I was simply trying to ask a question and got a completely vague answer. If it werent for me sharing web space with doc, I would probably advertise some of my led work on ebay due to the ease of it and less hassle for me. But I guess my work would then "suck" regardless of my experience, tons of satisfied customers, etc because it would be "ebay led swaps"

But... this is starting to remind me why I dont come to SL as much anymore

FIG Grilles ALL day , ALL night!!!...

1. FIG Grilles DO NOT bend easy.
2. Very durable!! Had mine for almost 2 years and there is no chipping or peeling of paint.
3. Drill holes on the OEM tabs. That way if you ever replace your FIGs, OEM Grilles cover the holes.
4. They look clean!!

If you properly install with zip ties, you will not notice them. I've had many a folk ask me how the Grilles
stay in place. When I tell (and show them the) zip ties, their mouths drop wide open.

Sorry it seems you took my post the wrong way. I was just clearing up that I know ebay doesn't have a plastic press that they create RS1 knockoffs with.

I'm not a VRD fanboy by no means, I don't fanboy anyone who doesn't give me special discounts. I just don't like the way Fig's are mounted. Makes me think Figure LLC took a bit of a short-cut when making them. Having customers zip-ty their grills on is pretty ghetto. Or even better, self-tapping screws.

Anyway, don't get so serious. It's the intarweb.

VRD > everything else.

Fig's look like crap is most lighting, which is perfectly shown in the picture above. It looks like it's bulging out on the upper right, and looks dented in on the left. Every picture I've seen of the Fig grilles, it looks like some Home Depot grille. They just look cheap.
