Default Gullwing tc?

ummm

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scion...5656QQtcZphoto

can you actually do that?....

That would either be awesome or incredibly strange...I would imagine it would squeak and look huge amounts of water for some reason.

damn, thats a new look!

As far as being able to do it, im sure its possible, but im sure it would take some MAJOR modding, our doors arent like other coupe doors, ours are BANGIN heavy! and they're huge!

there is a old as toyota corolla that is lifted on like 40 in tires for 4x4'in and stuff and it has gullwing doors, kinda cool!

i dont really thing it would be possible, due to the fact that the tcs roof is almost all glass, it would prob not hold the doors. now if you were to metal in the roof like a norm car it would be

I would think the top of the doors would have to be straight...
Most SUVs or trucks can do this without problem. I could see the xB being able to do it pretty well.

Just FYI, you would NEVER be able to park in a parking lot again. It would be the Delorean Syndrome all over again (how the owners scratched the HECK out of the cars beside them with their gullwing doors) haha

the all glass roof would actually benefit us. it's way over engineered for crash safety. It would certainly be able to handle the weigh tof the doors.

Hahahahaha!!!! Spellcheck would have helped that auction immensley! I doubt I'd ever buy something (esp. for that much $) if the seller couldn't spell.. Also looking at the picture of the "kit", it looks like a gas cylinder and a pair of home depot door hinges! LOL I bet the instructions have you bolt them to the outside of the car... Damn that's funny! :D

That's cool. It would be impractical if you had those and parked your car at Walmart parking lots. How would you fully open it when there are other cars next to yours.

The sheer weight of the doors (Their HEAYY) along with the glass roof would make it pretty tought to mount, but add in the curve of the door, and it makes it pretty darn unappealing to try, as I don't think it'd appear very nice

a xB could pull it off, especially on the rear doors, but I don't hold too much hope out for the tC.

Sure you can! Just don't open your doors and climb through your hatch.

Plus the top door edges around both windows are too thin and flimsy to support the weight of the doors.

you would KILL the car next to you...this is why the Delorean from DMC (the back to the future car) never sold very well...

(that, and because production ceased after they found out the founder of DMC was funding the cars with cocaine money...hhahahaa)

They also had a reputation for being unreliable.

As far as I know the actuators SP? support most of the wieght not the roof. Is it possable on the tC? Yes. Is it possable on all cars like the add says? No. My 05 Mustang does not have a door post going over the window so there would be nothing to conect the door to the roof

Apperently you've never driven a Delorean

First a couple thoughts. The auction claims you can do that conversion to any vehical that isn't a convertable. That's not possible. What about the 350 Z? That only has glass and no metal to hinge the door too.

Also, yes, with this conversion you COULDN'T get out if you did indeed part next to anyone. I mean come on. Look where the hinge is. It's right at the top.

third, there is no such thing as a "Delorean Syndrome". If you take a look at the Delorean, the doors have the hinge near the center of the car... also does the Bricklin. With Delorean doors you only need 11 inches on clearence. A normal door needs 14.

they also used the Deloreans to smuggle in said Cocaine.
If you guys are going to make claims like that, try Wikipedia first...

While Deloreans WERE unreliable (which is why the are collector items today) they NEVER had any cocaine, nor were they used to transport it. John Z. Delorean was baited into a dealing. He never once took the cocaine, and therefore the lawyer proved that it was entrapment from the police. He never went to jail. But he did however pass away within the last few years.
