has anyone encounter a problem with an hid kit just simply not working. meaning everything is plugged correctly, bulb is not burn out, and sometimes it works fine when turning it on but sometimes it wont turn on at all and it wont flicker at all. i was wondering if its the kit itself of just simply the bulb?????

 

I've never heard of that happening before. Which kit and temp bulb do you have?

 

i got a xenon kit for 8k. bulb.

 

Check your + and -

Most manufacturers quite often have them reversed, I know I had to do that for my hid fogs.

 

i have done that several times. try to reverse the connections and nothing happend same situation.

 

Both sides not working or just one side? Check your fuse! If you did everything correctly, check your LH and RH fuse.

 

one side only. checked fuses and they are fine bcuz when i put the stock bulbs back in they work fine.

 

If you checked fuses, re-inserted your old bulbs. Then the only thing I can think of is....bad ballast. Try the working ballast on the bad side. But remove your negative from your battery before doing so, so you won't pop a fuse. After you have installed the good ballast on the bad side (or switch the bad one to the good one) to see which was works. Most likely a bad ballast since you said the bulbs are intact.

if u have a relay harness check the relay.

 

x2! I had that problem, my relay rusted out even when I tried to protect it. This time I used a balloon around it to protect it from the elements.

AND about the ballon, i wrapped mine in electrical tape, then put a balloon around it, then wrapped it again, and it got wet! i dont even know how, stupid relay...

 

condensation! duh

just seal it with adhesive silicone.

And mounting it upright helps too. ;)

 

well i got no idea on where is the relay for the hid kit or which relay are u guyz talking about a lil help, pix will help. thnx.im going to try to switch my kit from one side to the other maybe its just over heating maybe not sure yet. but plz let me know wat im able to do

 

well double testing n switching back n forth it turns out that on one of the kits theres a lil buzz sound. and on the other one it wont make it n wont turn on. now by this can this b fix. one thing i did noticed that for a period of 2days that i didn't use the kit the hid kit did work when i tried it the 1st time but from there it didn't . so can it be fix or just simply buy a new kit/????
