Default HALO hid kit- updated -more new pix on page 3

So a few of my buddies at work are getting HIDs, and they've all been shopping around...... my friend with the tiburon seems to have found the best deal. I guess tons of tib owners have had luck with this company and I'm just curious if anyone here has tired them.

http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/sho...8&page=1&pp=25

unlike the sponsored sale here for the McCulloch's all the different temps sell at the same price and shipping is the same all of the the US

Halos are great, I see them in person, come with a 1 year warranty, I recommend the 9 0r 10k personally.

Well if I wanted to go with the 8k, the McCulloch's are about $75 more plus shipping. Not to mention they are a generation behind since this halo kit combines both the ballast and the ignitor into one box. (And seeing that you've never seen these first hand, to say the McCulloch's are better quality is really just your opinion.) I guess the person selling these Halo kits on the tib site has been doing so for almost 2 years and as of last week says that not one person has had a problem with the BCN getting fired. That was one of my concerns as the kit states that a relay is not required.

Anyhow it doesn't seem like anyone has these in a tC. I hope to order these in the next 2-3 weeks. Once I do I'll be sure to take some pictures and do a little review.

these ballast sure looks like the philips/hella ones... is it just assembled in japan, or is it also designed by the japanese?

make sure YOU DO get a wiring harness with a relay. don't trust what they say.

Yeah I think you're right I'm going to look into getting relays if I get these- anyone have any suggestions about relays -ie how much they cost, who to buy them from? Also I'm going to see about sending this to the guy who sells the kit and see if they will add in the relays for me for a little extra......

why? anything over 5300-6000k is a waste of light for color.. I saw some kid with a BMW m3 with cheapie 12000k bulbs in his projectors, the beam didnt reach more than 50ft in front of the car...

Go between 4300-6000, anything higher your visibility will be worse that halogens, and you'll be glaring the world for color...

Cheers

MountScion1- Harness is highly recommended mine or otherwise, with any aftermarket light setup.
You have probably heard all the stories of fry'd wiring and such with aftermarket bulbs. The relay harness only uses the stock connection to open and close the circuit on the relay (very low draw) the power comes from the battery to the ballasts over a higher gauge wire that can handle the increased amps required to initilize the ballasts on start-up, some folks run plug and play all day with no issues, but why chance it, small investment to protect replacing a factory harness.
The F1Spec harnesses have a 9006 connector that goes into the ballast for power, this is a common connection for many HID kits just double check yours or you can always mod it to fit.
