yeah, but you live in maryland!

i'm in florida! i've asked literally half a dozen+ places to tint my sunroof and *some* of them will, but with no warranty because ALL of them (yes, ALL of them) have told me that the sun will start to "bake" the tint on the sunroof (yes, your tint does absorb heat as well) and possibly make it so hot that the sunroof glass could crack/shatter from the heat. it's different from your other windows because it's on top of your car and can have direct heat applied to it.

i got my windows tinted from my friend that has been doing tint for almost 10 years now and he would NOT do it because there is too much of a chance that it would damage. he wouldn't even do it and tell me there is no warranty. he said he didn't want to be the one that made my sunroof shatter!

and yeah, maybe in other places, it's not that bad because the sun isn't as hotttt there like it is here in florida, but everyone here will either not do it or they told me they will do it but with no warranty because of the chance of it shattering from the heat.

Speaking of tint. Does'nt aftermarket tint fade or turn purple after 3 or 4 years?

From what I've heard, there two things that turn tint purple.

1.) Cheap autozone/pepboys tint that is just color dyed to be dark.

2.) Using windex (or windex-like products) on tinted windows.

Supposedly windex has some kind of chemical in it that turns tint that color. Honestly, I'm not really sure if it's true or not, but I use a Silicone Window Tint Film Cleaner that I got from a tiniting shop just in case and my windows have yet to turn purple.

Then again it's only been about 6 months since I've gotten them tinted...

You aren't supposed to use household products on the tint. Ask any professional, they recommend alcohol & water or baby soap. Make sure you use a lint-free cloth so you can avoid scratching the tint.

anything with ammonia will damage the tint, this includes the popular simple green cleaner.
