Hatch not working!
My gut feeling is the 3 year/30,000 mile electrical warranty is gone.
Hit it with a hammer! That doesn't work, bigger hammer!
But seriously, try using the remote, hit the unlock twice. If still nothing, you've likely either worn the relay out, or the motor out. I never figured that motor to go out in a short time, unless it was aided by a short/shock.
It wasn't freezing rain/heavy snow/brutally cold and maybe just froze the motor was it? My last car ( VW passat wagon) had the same style of hatch release as the tc does. For about a week, it wouldn't open either, and of course, I found this out the day I had a flat tire. About a week later (trying it time and time again) it worked flawlessly after a few gentle closed fist hits where the motor was located (around the handle area). I just figured it was a stubborn Germany, and needed a good ___ kicking to get working again.
