hatch struts shot and hatch crooked like a mofo...help!
so i havent opened my hatch in a while i have 2 12's in the back so i have no real storage space back there and the other day i was cleaning the car and i realized that my struts in the back are cooked they have no spring left. i called toyota they want like 140 a piece for them, not to mention condit toyota in newton is a bunch of crooks. anyway i called advance auto and they said 29.95 each which is real cheap and they said they are direct replacements. ill probably do that unless someone says they are worthless they other thing is now my hatch is off by like a 1/2 an inch the gap is big on one side and almost gone on the other is there a way to shift it over a bit i was looking at the hinges and they seem pretty fixed. anyone with feedback would be greatly appreciated.
yeah stealership was asking 130 a piece for me.
Go get them from advanced auto its the same thing or ebay.
I dont know about that gap tho..
just install the struts (10 mins and make sure someones holding the hatch for you) and see what happens from there

yeah advance has direct replacements for 19.95 each totally going that way. i have no pictures but picture that hatch where it should be than shift it to the right like 1/2 and inch so there is a huge gap on one side and nothing on the other. the hatch is sitting pretty level i think does anyone know how to adjust it?
