Default Head Light Issue!

My passanger side head light just went out on me. I have a 2006 TC with only 40,000 miles. Is this normal I would have thought that they would last longer then this. I haven't gone to the shop to grab a new light bulb but just wondering if it might be something else?

thanks guys

Check the fuse, check the connector, check the ground, unless you've already narrowed it down to the bulb.

I haven't had any time to check that. I had to run to work really fast.

Do we really need a thread for this? (deleted unnecessary ranting)
Bulbs are one of those things subject to manufacturing flaws. I had set of silver stars last less than 6months. My OE bulbs are still going strong, every time I drive I have them on. I must have got a "good set". Hopefully you get this fixed before someone calls padittle on you! And if you are that worried you can have the dealer look at.

lol, weird way of looking at it!

How can you base something like that on mileage? The bulb life depends on how much they're used. One person with 40k miles might have used their lights twice as much as another person with the same mileage.

90% chance it's just a burned out bulb.
8% chance it's a fuse.
2% chance it's something else requiring major repair.

The bulb switch will take you 5 minutes or less. Don't get finger grease on the bulb.

like the person above said, most likely just a burned out bulb...its very normal. even new cars come with bulbs that may be manufactured poorly. however, when replacing bulbs, its recommended to replace both at once (even the unburned one).
