Hopefully I don't get too much heat for digging up this old forum but I figured it was better than starting a new one regarding the same topic.

I'm in the process of doing a 2006 to 2008 headlamp transplant and also upgrading to H.I.D's.

My question:

I know I have to purchase an H11 kit to fit the newer 2008 housing, however I'm wondering if I have to purchase any other type of adapter to make the kit fit on the 06'. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is the H.I.D kit that I'm attempting to purchase.

if im reading this correctly...yes you will need a different type of bulb for the 06 lights. like you said, the 08s use H11 but the 06 style uses 9006 bulbs

The car is an 06' and I'm installing 2008 headlamps. The H.I.D system I'm purchasing is for a 2008 with H11 bulbs. I just want to make sure that I don't need any adapters or additional wiring for the H.I.D kit to fit correctly. Thanks!

You need a kit with 9006 connectors (or just buy a 9006 relay harness) and H11 bulbs.

yes it'll fit, as mentioned above you need a kit with 9006 connectors, and then you'll need h11 bulbs.. also if your deciding between a 35w vs 55w kit, i'd go with the 35w (less glare). just my 2cents..

I have a pair of OEM 08+ Projectors for sale. You could easily retrofit those into the 06 housing and have the projector headlights for less than $100 w/ HID's.

$50 Shipped Takes em. Let me know if your interested.

Yes sir!

You may want to through in some clear lenses on them for a better cutoff, but they are pretty decent the way they are.

See attached. This is OEM shield modded, quick color mod with OEM bowl and everything is OEM... NOT a retrofit, and posted t about 30-35 ft from fence. =) it's not that cool as u can see... lol the bowl sucks!

This was just testing the modded OEMs, I've retrofitted e46's into my other headlights.

lol nah just showing a small pic for how the OEMs perform after removing the squirrel spotter. they are still legit if you can actually get the bowl resurfaced, no doubt. width is there.

Yep. Yep! It still an affordable way for people to get their 08 Headlights for around $100 -125... Not bad considering they go for like $300 everyday. I wonder how much a set of retrofit ones would go for on this fourm... ? lol

To be completely honest, I would do them my self and save a bunch of money. Don't know who Tints windows and does retrofits but that seems decent.
