Default Headlight removal, necessary to remove bumper?

is there any info on headlight removal? i will be attempting a HID retrofit soon, well not too soon, have to study for PE exam in april. i read up on bumper removal but it'll be easier if theres a way to remove the headlights w/o taking the bumper off. also, has anybody tried to illuminate the 'eyelid' part of the TC headlights? looks like i can make/fit some LED light in a row or something in there.

www.tctunerz.com has a $1300 set of headlights that I believed they ripped off from www.clearcorners.com. They are HID and have illuminated eyelids and everything - way over the top, but looks good in the show car they made it for. I like the clean look of the tC now - I think it would definitely be complimented by a nice clean HID projector retrofit, but I think the extra illumination makes it to showy.

i searched and found other posts regarding bumper removal. but my original question was to see if bumper removal was necessary in order to remove the headlights, not how to remove the bumper.

You should not have to remove the bumper ti install a hid kit..

If you buy a plug-n-play kit.. All you have to do is mount 1 ballast to each side near the light and and plug the clips to the bulbs and instert the bulb.. No need to remove the bumper.. I am going to be ordering my hid set in a few weeks..

i'm talking about taking the headlights out to retrofit a project in each housing. I actually put in a set of Helios 6000K HID kit couple weeks ago. I plan to sell it because I want to do HID lighting the right way. HID kit with HID bulb in halogen reflector can not compare to the light output and beam pattern of a HID projector. I say this based on personal experience after driving around with the HID kit a little over a week.

yea u need to remove the bumper because on the fender there is one bolt that u can't get to without removing the bumper. there is a also a clip that hold up the front side of the bumper. so there is now way around it.

undo all the bolts on the bottom of the bumper.8 i think, there one on each side by the wheels, once those are removed u need to remove the one bolt under the fender liner.
then pull on the outer edges of the bumper it will snap off, then there is the pop clips on the top of the bumper. two on each side, and one in the center.
easier done than said all 10mm bolts. then two botls on top of the headlight and one on the outer edge 10mm also. them it pops out

the outer headlight bolt is directly hiden behind the bumper so it mut be removed to remove the headlight.
btw kits suck.
