Default HELP!!!! Painting Scion Emblem

I used Flat black duppli color 3 times and it was black

then I used clear coat from duppli color 'crystal clear'

then I see black color coming off as I sprayed crystal clear

How long should I wait until black color dries?

I waited about 20 minutes.... thats not enough?

Sigh... I've been doing this over and over for hours now... getting tired!

Please help!!!

I had the same problem!...when i sprayed clear coat on it the Charcoal color was coming off too!....You have to let it dry about an hour in a warm temperture between coats!!

i have found that spray paint can be rather tricky... even though it says the quaota time on how long it should dry, you almost allways have to wait longer... and also the wheather has to be just right. i have found that 75-85 is pretty good for me

I waited about 20 minutes between coats but thats only because I used a heat gun.

when i painted, first clean it and sand it, then prime it with a basecoat ( gray), then hit it with black, then clear it.

let it dry for about 2 hours each step.

should work.

You don't need a link, it's real easy. Just take a flat head screwdriver and a towel to wrap over the end. Just wedge it behind the emblem and slowly pry around the entire emblem. Just take it slow and be careful. There are two prongs in the upper left and lower right corner to be careful of as well. I painted mine along with my interior last week. Here is a pic. Still have to fill in the Scion in white.

Removing the rear emblem...

Something about "prying" a logo away from a painted surface worries me. They look good painted though. I just did my front logo a gloss black and it looks sharp.

As long as you don't push hard and are gentle, you will have no problem. JUST MAKE SURE YOU WRAP THE END OF WHATEVER IT IS YOU ARE USING TO PRY IT OFF SO YOU DON'T SCRATCH THE PAINT. Mine came off with no problem, maybe use a hairdryer for 30 seconds or so before you start to take off the emblem. This will loosen the modeling tape in the back.
