Default HID aiming question...

Okay I have my first pair of HID's..I love them!..

Tonight while driving around..I got flashed by 4 cars!...

I dont know if the lights are aimed correctly..But I also checked by parking in front of a wall....they seem level and low...so I dunno

Then I heard a few people saying they had to lower them?...How do u do that???

Yes, I have tried that adjusting screw on the headlight unit...Does NOT seem to make any difference!!

Okay..if anybody can help or anyhting...Thanks!!!!

You got to keep turning that screw **** on the back....eventually it will go down but it takes awhile.

it's pretty much level for the most part.. but probably what the reason why they're flashing at you is the extra glare that you're getting..

Glare x3.

You could try pointing them really really low. Just keep turning that screw until it starts to move. It moves in very small amounts.

yeah that screw takes a good while. i heard a 2ft high hot spot @ 30ft was good, but i havent done it. use a 8mm wrench and save your fingers! lol. but it does go down eventually. oh yeah and being dropped helps a bit too. lol

I had to aim mine like a million times to get them right. I also took the headlights out and took the ring off the back to get the bulb in a really good position. I never get flashed now and I actually have kind of a cut off, lol, it doesn't seem too much worse than stock either...

the plastic ones you know that hold the bulb in after you twist it, I think they're grey. I took them off, put the bulb in and moved and twisted it until the light output looked as good as it was going to get. Then I put the plastic ring back on and screwed it into place. It was kind of a pain, but I think it was worth it, lol.

aim your lights at a wall about 100 feet away... youll see them move. I get flashed all the time and mine are at factory height. Are you in the 08 projectors?

This is a good way to find out what they are aimed at...........also at 100' stand in the parking space to the drivers side and see at what point you get glare.......for me at about 4'off the ground.... i got glare in my eyes .....................so I lowered the light til ti was below taht and said hell with it............I also have 08 projectors so it is not as bad as regular reflector headlights, but they do glare a bit and the color is very white and bright..........I think a lot of people see the white and brightness and think we have highs on............

this is most likely why a retro fit to hid projectors is a good thing to consider even withthe 08s.

haha thats about what ive got for me... but with HID projectors you cant help but getting people flashing you... when your going up a slight incline your lights aim up so much it looks like the sun! I get it all the time and at like 500' my lights glare @ 3ft. Theyre nearly perfectly level, If i have low air in a tire i can tell by my headlights

ahhhhhhh so what if you see a cop! Just say it must have been from the incline in the hill, worst case they'll give you a fix it ticket!

Mine are still at stock height and I havn't been flashed yet. I'm dropped on Hotchkis. I also had a friend drive infront of me and said they're not blinding. I got the MobileHID kit.

I raised mine about 2 clicks up and I still don't get flashed around here. Of course, everyone around here drives jacked up pickups. If someone flashes you when your coming over a hill then thats their problem of course it will be brighter then. Also, sometimes when another car is going over bumps it'll appear that they are flashing you when they really aren't.
