For the grill check out the VRD grills here:

http://stores.ebay.com/VertexRacing-com

They are $129 + shipping. I just got one myself and if you do a search you'll see plenty of pix with these grills on.

If you want blue you need 8000k, and the Hi-Lo HIDs are usually at least $200, unless someone else has seen them elsewhere.

Operatic is the man...I have the 8k HIDs....very nice and clean...I love em....I only paid $130...but that was when they had a sale...shouldn't be more than $150 still...
I'm looking into the VRDs now...

I got my 6k HIDs from operatic for $130. IMO you don't need high beams with HIDs. As for color they look very similar to Infiniti and BMW HID lights, have a slight blue hue to them, very bright and nice looking.
As for grilles I went with Fig LLC on ebay- around $130 powdercoated

HID install was easy enough. Instructions seemed complicated at first, then my dad and I just said screw it- lets start on it and see if the instructions make sense- they did! Funny how it always seems to work that way.

Default glare city

do you guys realize how much glare an HID "kit" creates? I just cant stand that stuff anymore. I think the next ricerboy I drive by with a 12k "HID", Im gonna get out and remove them myself. Why do you guy head on over to www.hidplanet.com and check out the forums there. That is an HID lighting setup. It can be had for a few hundred plus better lighting. Then theres the pimp factor with the colorful cutoff. Lets just say there is a mod in my near future that I only had to spend $500 on to give my car some class. And Im also using some toyota parts, hint hint "lexus". I will make a thread when Im closer to being ready, but please oh please quit turnin our cars in to the typical ricer. Our cars have class. Laters, Drew

i have glare but thats why i aimed mine down so i dont blind others. seriously other cars at stock height blind me already with halogens. ive had mine for months and i have never been flashed once. just aim them down and no one is the wiser.

and the typical ricer is that guy who uses those smothered in blue paint to give that "blue" hid look that dont even give any output that are relatively useless for real world situations.

well it seems your the only one that cares about other people, I drove by 8 cars on my 15 minute drive back from work. That is why I hate "kits" so much. We will see how much mine end up costing me, and we will see about the future. Drew

If you adjust the light angles after install the glare to other drivers is nonexistant....that is why they put the wheels there to adjust up down and in out.....goto a parking lot with lines and a wall and aim them so they cutoff at about 3' and so they stay in the lane and to the right......pretty easy really.....I had to do it when I put in my htechs as I lost the flat plane of the car to a raked down plane.....took like 30 minutes.

thats funny that you put cutoff in the same sentence when talkin about hid kits. well, I am getting closer to showing you how easy a retro could be, took me 15 minutes to take the headlight out, 15 to remove everything from the headlight, and another 15 to bake and remove the lense. Its awesome how perfect the 08 headlight are for hids. The stock halogen projector is about the same size as a hid projector, so this is gonna be sweet, and look 100% stock when off. More to come, Drew

I have $238 into the project for low beam projectors, ballasts, and bulbs. They are all used but even used they are better than PnP kits. Its gonna be another 50 or so to finish, with the customizing I am gonna do. the relay harness also, since they are essential no matter what vendors tell you. Im not riskin my car because I trust some puny factory wires, I am a second year electronics major at devry. I know what current of like 70w that they startup at can do. More to come, Drew

why would you wanna do a retro on an 08.. i understand for the looks.. but functionality wise.. why? the projectors are well .. projectors.. they need a little bit of work to fix the squirell spotters but i think a retro is a bit much on the 08s. thats just my .02.
