Im in the market for some hids. I already know that I want 6k but the question I have is, how well do hids work in stock '06 housing. anybody have pictures of the cutoff? also what brand should I choose? operatic, mobilehid, or oznium?

 

I would go read the posts in the sponsored sales forums. HID's are no prob in the stock housing, it gets tricky when you have anzo projectors and shiot.

 

just get the whole kit, its easier that way and better lol

Stock housings = major glare.

 

I have the operatic kit...8k....and the glare isnt that bad...I havent been flashed yet

so are most people with 05-07's just sticking with the stock housing or most people doing retro's or aftermarket?

 

what do you guys mean by flashed? like by cops or when some1 flickers there high beams at you?

stock headlamps with hids give off alot of glare;retrofit in hid projectors for the best results

 

^I dont get much glare, it looks pretty good, i have 8000k and i drive past cops all the time and they never even notice

 

my buddy has 12000k and stock housings. there is really no blinding affect unless u are low to the ground

 

12000K isnt bright

 

thought those were the brightest

 

4600 is brightest, i believe

 

Does being lowered make a huge difference in glare?

 

i have 12k here you go if you dont think they are bright
