Default HID questions

right now i have some 5000k hids. i was wondering if i could just buy the 10000k bulbs and stick it into my ballast. will it be safe and not melt my wires? just a question.

im pretty sure you can. ask cliff from MobileHID in sponsored sales. he sells different K color bulbs individually. but be warned. you wont see crap with 10K bulbs.

i also have 5K and cant imagine anybody wanting to decrease visibility over style but thats just me.

I'm curious too. I figure you should be able to. Was thinkin about getting some extra bulbs just in case. Maybe a set of 8K to switch it up a little.

on a related note, what about bulb sizes? I currently have a 9006 fitment hid (8000k) but I want to switch to H1 bulbs (for a projector)... do i have to buy a brand new kit? or just new bulbs?

just new bulbs. all HID bulbs use the same two plugs. What is it. The yellow and the blue right?

^^ yea. I hate the really blue look. I think it looks gross. I like the straight up white, just a tiny hint of blue. Looks cleaner imo.

As long as you buy bulbs that have the same type of connectors as your old HID bulbs do then you'll be fine.

Yes most of the aftermarket HID bulbs are interchangeable with the ballast. If you have a set of existing HID all you need is a new pair of bulbs (regardless of size/"k") if will fit

If any of you guys are interested in some special HID colors to show off in auto show or just to have fun with it in fog lights, we carry Yellow, pink, Green and purple color HIDs!!!

Check them out!!
