Hey guys,

Ive had a 6K HID with relay harness kit from 3bspec for over a year, a few months ago it started giving me problems...the headlights wouldnt turn on occasionally when i switched it on, i would have to keep turning them off and on until they finally fired up. Even after finally firing up, one of the bulbs showed a slightly more purple color. I was under warranty and was given a new bulb and relay which temporarily solved the problem.

I am encountering the same problem now, the headlights dont always turn on, and when they do they flicker initially more than normal, and the passenger side seems to be a slightly different color. Since i am out of warranty, what are my options? I am considering getting a new relay harness, but i dont want the problem to just happen again in the future. Im also away at college and dont use the car during the year, so i dont see how the relay can possibly get so corroded.

 

ballast might be going bad,or either the fuse in the relay needs to be replaced...if the bulb itself is changed color the bulb could be bad also, basically,the bulb, and the ballast could be shot

 

Ok so i replaced the relay which seemed to be completely corroded, and the problem has somewhat been fixed. However, now my headlights sometimes turn on randomly when the car is off, I thought this might be a relay problem but i just replaced it. The female connector seems to have some of the rusty liquid stuff from the previous relay, should i go ahead and replace the entire harness?

 

I had the same problem only one will go one and then other will work only i switched out the hardness and that solved me problem. sometimes the hardness itslef could be defective it could be working for awhile because the wire were it my be cut internaly might just be holding on then the use of the wire will eventually break the connection i figured that out because once i started to mess around with the hardness it will turn on so hope this helps you guys out
