Hey everyone. I have hid bulbs from a 2005 corvette but i was wondering if i could install just the bulbs instead of having to install the bulbs w/ the ballasts.

That is not possible... HID bulbs are a totally different setup than a standard stock setup and require the ballasts without question...

Sorry...

okay.. i have a question about adding a HID conversion kit. ummmmm.. yeah. the only problem i really really want to do it. but. the jdm parts i might get are hb4 (9006) with the stock housing. how would it actually look like ? because i have seen mostly all HID STOCK lighting system out in the road with the blub filter thing on them ? would i need the light filter ? or just go straight blast ?

I have the 10000k Xetronic HID kit on my daughters tC and it's not blinding at all. The cutoff appears to be just fine. No glare head on as that was my biggest concern. Night vision is amazing and looks very classy head on.

The Xetronic HID kit requires the use of ballast to fire the lights. I don't think any HID kits will fire and light up on 12 volts. It uses the existing stock headlight housing and stock harness.

The stock light socket plugs into the ballast, the ballast then goes to the HID bulb that plugs directly into the stock housing.

No HID kit will fire on just 12V.

insanelyx, I think you're talking about a projector lens...you don't really need it for the tC, but some say that it's better to have.

A balast is what converts the 12v to high voltage to fire the lights.

o yea and most stock vehicles from the factory use 4500k its yellowish/white that the legal color for the road, the reason why they look bluish purple sometimes is the ellipsoid magnifines the light and changes the color much like you would see in a prism.....
