pretty much all ofus who have OEM or VRD integrated foglights have that happen. they only come on when the low beams are on, and turn off when the high beams are on.

here is a great DIY on how to make them come on independantly.

you shouldn't be running fog and high beams together. it's dangerous and can limit your visibility. just throwing that out so you know the risks before you dive into the project.

it's not a matter of your own saftey.. but for others..

laws prohibit and control a certain number of lamps to be on at a certain time, on the front of the car.

the fogs turn off because of that... and also why the fogs are wired to turn on with the low beams in the first place.

but that doesn't make much sense, because when a vehicle is coming int he oncoming lane, you turn off your high beams anyway.

you only use high beams when there is nobody else ahead of you, and can't see past your low beams.
