i personally run sparco hood pins to be on the safe side. IMO they dont look bad at all, and id rather be safe than sorry.
Yea if you run a CF hood you SHOULD run hood pins. I run sparco pins also and they work really well... before my CF hood literally flapped in the wind. Munch had a CF hood fly up on him at the track.
BTW this can happend at any speed... it used to happen to me at 70mph

Most definitely.
When I first had my hood on, I took it directly off because I drove on the highway every day and was surprised at how the hood went up and down while driving normally.
It was then when I ordered Sparco hood pins. I'd rather be safe than sorry, and plus - I paid a pretty penny for my hood and just wanted to be on the safe, cautious side.

BUMP!!!!!! PLS show me some hood pins which needs no key or removable pins or womething like that.. so i want a hodd pin with a twist lock or folding mechanism.. i hope u guys know what im talking about.... i seen the sparco hood pin already.. nice but i might see something better..
a friend of mine has an rx-8 with a carbon fiber hood. He said he didnt want hood pins and about 2 weeks after he had it on, there are like small cracks/folds in the carbon fiber where the latch is. He ended up getting hood pins before any more damage happened.
I am wondering where to get the sparco hood pins from or if the NRG hood pins are any good.
Also where would I take them to get installed? Any problems with cracking after the holes were drilled?
I will be getting the kaminari cf hood to go on my bsp and want to install some hood pins considering most of my driving is at 70-80mph on a freeway.

you drill the holes exactly where the bump stop is (remove the bump stop, and install the pin there), and you start with a small hole, and gradually make it larger.`
