The shop i chose wants to replace just the skin instead of the whole quarter panel to save around 12 hours of labor - what do you think of this?
As long as the inner framework is structurally sound, that should be fine. Won't know completely until the outer skin is cut away. Probably looking at a minimum of $2500
Inner body should be OK. But that's to be measured after removing outer skin. They place car on jig and measure diagonal distances between various reference points to find if anything's bent. Would end up causing wheel-alignment issues and replacement skin won't fit right. Amazing the machines they use to bend body back into shape. Looks like giant robot doing origami!
