How do I get a sponsor?

I have noticed that some people on this site have a sponsor and that is how they hook their car up. I was wondering how you obtained your sponsor and how difficult was it. I don't see any sponsored vehicles where I live but I am sure there have to be a few. Thanks for the info in advance.

(Sponsorship usually takes a lot of money, time, and knowledge, plus a good reputation in the show scene)
