i have bats 3or4/10 (the lighter one) and the taillights are still really bright. i actually think the stock lights are TOO bright, the tint tones it down a but it is still very visible.

Why the hell would you want to blind the cars behind you? You are already blinding the hell out of the cars ahead of you! Sheesh!!!

Back on topic, maybe I'll try led's for now and see how that works out. Autolumination.com has 3-watt luxeon LED's that look decent...
The tint (depending on how dark you go) doesn't affect the brightness that much. My taillights (when on) don't look too much different than non-tinted tailights.
Do you have any pictures? Like maybe some before-after shots? How dark is your tint?
No before shots, they looked just like every other new tC...red. I tinted my tails with VHT not vinyl, so it's hard to say exactly how dark (ie; 3/10 or whatever).

Lights off:

(the circle in the middle is the reflector)

Lights on day:

(no flash in this one)

Lights on at dusk:

(again, the flash is being reflected)

Lights on at night:

I don't have any pics with the brake on, but they are almost as bright as stock.
Hope that helps.

I personally would have left it stock, but props for being different.

Alright, I feel better....That looks like its about as dark as the overlays, and they don't seem to be as dark as I thought they would be. I watched my car from behind last night and the LED for the 3rd brake light are as bright as the taillights when youre braking...I figure the tint will be ok when I'm braking. The lights wont be as distinguishable at night on a road with streetlights, but that really doesn't matter too much now does it? Otherwise I think I'll be fine. Thanks for the pics!
