I was walkin' into Home Depot bummed because I was about to just settle with gutter guard for my grill project this thursday... I'm glad I took a stroll through the whole store though...

I found all kinds of grill in the far back corner of that place...

I was about to get this big square grill for like a patio door because it was a big stretched diamond shaped pattern, but I kept looking fortunately and found a 5' x 3' roll of this galvanized steel woven mesh stuff with (1/2" square design) ..very beefy design compared to the normal mesh i've seen...it looks just like some of the stuff I see online...cheap too! it was like 6 bucks for that roll!

I got that and some metal primer and some flat black rustoleum and spent less than $20 so i was very pleased.

As always, I'm going to take a bajillion pictures and do a DIY if anyone would be interested.

watching this one....sounds like you are talking about hardware cloth, but i'll hold off my judgement until i see some pics....so update with some already!!!

 

ah! Ok here are a couple pics of the stuff... All I've been able to do is unroll it and try to flatten out a section....I have to work today but tomorrow I'm startin' reaaally early on all this. I think it's gonna turn out pretty nice.
