When my friends Jetta got keyed in HS down his drivers side from front to back, it cost him $800 to fix it.

I saw a tC that came into service once that had been keyed. Don't know the cost to repair it but I do know that they didn't stop at the keying, they also ripped all the badging off.

You described the kind of person that would do that perfectly... They are buttholes!

if you post up a couple of pictures of it then ican tell you about how much it shoudl cost. point of advice, run your finernail over the kep marks...if it actually catches and makes the snap noise then its going to be an expencive fix

its gonna cost me about $1,700 to fix my keyed xA. The only difference is maybe because mine got keyed the whole way around. In fact its still keyed the whole way around, still havent had the time to paint it. At least they left both passenger doors and roof untouched

They sure are. My in-laws have a '91 as well, running 200K strong... minus power steering, it went out a couple of months ago.

my condolences~ I was told by a body shop that just prep and paint is around $400 per panel door etc on avg. My dads truck just got the same thing all the way down both sides of the bed. I would check with your insurance they may claim that as a comprehensive claim. Mine is $100 for deductible. Just a thought you might wanna check into.

Your insurance may also go up and cost you more in the long run (but check your company's policy before taking my word for it).

I scratched and dented an area about the side of my hand and it cost about $600 at a good place that restored to as good as new. Chances are that it's not worth it if it makes your insurance go up.

My hood got keyed, had a traffic come get shot out from under a truck and right into my front bumber, sone dings from people opening their doors all the way, and two hit and runs all in under 6 months of owning my tC. The first hit and run only scratched the pain, btu the second one left a three foot wide, three inch deep, dent on the right corner panel in the rear. The hit and runs were both on my car while I was in class at OCC. I hate parking there. Sorry to hear about your car. Damn haters.

BE WARNED!!! Dont call your insurance Co. about anything!! They will put it on your record, no matter if you do fix it yourself. It will be an open case, until you tell them it was fixed, and they ((depending on your ins. co.)) can still raise your rates. If you still want to call them, then make it an inquiry and make it smart by not refering it to your car, bt maybe your friends car had this happen and you are only inquiring about coverage that your might consider adding to your policy, if it exists. Insurance Co. are sly and untrustworty. Never call them and talk about your problems if any exist, or are currently active on your vehicle. If you ever have to go to another Co. the inquiries that werent known to you, will be known to the other Co. and you could be turned down or you will have to explain yourself.. Be smart about it, and you will be fine.. This was talked about in great detail over at another car forum i used to go to.. Wish i could find it, but its been a while... Good Luck..
